1. “Competitive Salary”: We remain competitive by paying less than our competitors.

10 Ways to Win at Work
We are all self-employed whether we are working for ourselves or working with an organisation. Today, employability is the key to success. Here are 10 ways to ensure a positive reputation precedes you.
1. Be your own PR Consultant
Done subtly, self-promotion is a potent tool. Remind your boss or your clients how you have delivered on commitments, exceeded targets or resolved issues. But be subtle, arrogance is not an attractive quality.

2. Say thank you
We all like to be recognised for doing a good job, but most people don’t give or receive enough recognition. Saying thank you either face to face, over the phone or by sending a short email is a powerful way to acknowledge others. Equally you are investing in the relationship with that person who will unconsciously remember that you are the source of positive feelings for them.

3. Give others credit
Many people in business act as if giving others credit for good work or successes will somehow diminish their own standing. Yet, it costs nothing and pays big dividends. Winning at work is playing the long game which is based on building great working relationships. The higher you rise in your career the more you will have to achieve through others. So start laying the foundations now.

4. The critical non-essentials
Power lies in the detail. While you don’t want to get the reputation of a nit-picker, you do need to pay attention to the details. Clive Woodward the England rugby manager who coached England to World Cup victory in 2003 spoke about the critical non-essentials, the details that make the difference and which will set you apart from your competition.

5. Networking is Working
This is the ‘Relationship Age’. It is not what you know (information is now a commodity) it is who you know. Don’t waste your lunch hour eating a sandwich alone. Use that time to enhance relationships or learn something. Go to office outings or industry events, gather contacts, collect business cards and work on maintaining relationships.
